<h4>A career in <b>event management</b> is not for everyone, however it is everything to Mike Walker, the founder and Director of MGN events.</h4>
<p><em>Mike describes how he started in the events industry, and what makes it so rewarding.</em></p>
<p><i>Event management</i> does have its perks though, Mike says he enjoys seeing months of preparation come to fruition, <em>“Personally for me, the most rewarding thing in this job is when all the cogs in the wheel work as a team to produce and run the event that has taken so long to organise. Seeing the client happy and knowing you have made a difference produces an equally great feeling.”</em></p>
<p>And his advice to students thinking of going into events management? &#8220;Always have a plan B! Staff and suppliers can sometimes let you down, and being able to think on your feet quickly and creatively can pay dividends, and equally it shows potential employers how dynamic you can be.&#8221;</p>

For many girls, turning 16 is a cause for celebration as it is usually around this time that GCSE&#8217;s are taken or completed and so are ready to leave secondary school and move on to either sixth form or college. A sweet 16 is seen as a rite of passage these days so why not make it one to remember with the help of an <strong>event management</strong> team.
