Virtual comedy night – the perfect way to keep spirits high
Following the success of their virtual Christmas party – ironically, the Covid-19 pandemic provided an opportunity to bring all of their people together when the location of offices overseas would usually prevent such a gathering – Our client decided that they should hold more company-wide events.
Recognising the importance of boosting employee morale and keeping everyone connected during a time when remote working has become the norm, our client requested us to deliver a virtual social event every month. We’ve taken the concept of Friday night drinks after work and amplified it to provide attendees with a great experience and plenty of opportunities to socialise with colleagues.
The first event was organised for the last Friday of January and we made sure it would make a big splash. We arranged a 90-minute virtual comedy showcase and booked some fantastic acts. Award-winning comedian and compere Stephen Grant hosted the evening and kept energy levels high. Sukh Ojla and Nathan Caton, both of whom have appeared on BBC two’s comedy show Mock the Week, had everyone in stitches before the headline act, none other than the hugely popular and incredibly funny Russell Kane.
The event was hosted on Zoom, with approximately 500 people attending. In between acts, we utilised Zoom’s breakout rooms where colleagues could mingle and network. An evening of many laughs, a fun and relaxed atmosphere – just like old times!
