Perfect venues for corporate away days in Berkshire
Corporate away days have come a long way since the days of spartan conference centres. Today, it’s a great way to build on business objectives, share new ideas and directions and make people feel like they have a valuable role to play in the business.
Corporate away days in Berkshire
From our extensive experience of planning corporate events, we know that the choice of venue can be key to the success of an away-day, and we know all the best places. Berkshire has plenty of impressive venues and their proximity to London and major transport links makes them very popular. Here are a few of our favourites.
The owners of Wickham House know just what it takes to make a corporate away-day really successful. They came from careers in the City themselves and can offer the perfect combination of a grand 18th century house and inside knowledge of providing the right environment for strategizing and decision making – and it’s only an hour from London. A variety of spaces means this venue can cater for a small group of delegates right up to 400. Once work is out of the way, you might indulge in a spot of fishing or clay pigeon shooting.
A corporate away-day at Dorney Lake could only ever be inspirational. Overlooking the world-class rowing lake where Team GB won 12 medals at London 2012; the excellent conference and events venue is ideal for a constructive day out of the office. You could also combine work with a bit of play in the form of team building. Needless to say, most of the activities are water-based, but there are options to stay on dry land as well.
Set within an estate covering 14,000 acres and two counties, Englefield House is a magnificent Grade II* listed property that is available for exclusive use. Get to work in the Governor’s Room, relax over a drink in the Library and round off the day with a delicious meal in the Dining Room – this is a seriously stylish and luxurious away-day.
The world renowned Ascot Racecourse doesn’t just welcome the racing fraternity, it’s also an excellent venue for corporate events with over 300 meeting and conference rooms – whatever size space and facilities you need, Ascot will fit the bill.
Sheepdrove Organic Farm & Eco-Centre
Looking for a venue that’s a refreshing alternative to stately homes and country estates for corporate away days in Berkshire? Why not try a farm! Sheepdrove is a working farm that focuses on the environment and animal welfare. It also just happens to have fantastic purpose-built facilities for corporate events for 10-150 attendees. All this within minutes of the M4.
The Royal Berkshire Conference Centre
Based in Reading’s Madejski Stadium, the Royal Berkshire Conference Centre boasts a comprehensive range of rooms and suites of all sizes, whether your corporate away-day is just for a small handful of delegates or you’ve got an entire organisation of 500 staff attending.
Infamous as the setting for the Profumo Affair, Cliveden is a stately home that is also internationally recognised as a luxury hotel and superb fine dining restaurant. Which makes it a great place for a corporate event. There are a number of function rooms to choose from and after a long day delegates can unwind in Cliveden’s spa facilities.
A stone’s throw from Windsor, Great Fosters is a beautiful and grand period property turned luxury hotel. It’s also a great place in which to do business, with meeting spaces that can accommodate up to 120 delegates. Great Fosters may have been built over 400 years ago, but it is totally up to date in terms of facilities for a productive day away from the office.
