Turning 60 deserves more than a single evening. Our client knew this instinctively and wanted to mark the milestone with a weekend that felt generous, joyful and deeply personal.

Living in Abu Dhabi with his wife, he was keen to return to London to celebrate with family travelling from Derby and Nottingham. The brief was clear: bring everyone together, remove the stress of planning and create a luxury 60th birthday weekend in London that allowed people to relax, reconnect and simply enjoy being together.

With a wide mix of adults and children attending, the experience needed to strike a careful balance. It had to feel celebratory without being overwhelming, structured without being rigid, and luxurious without losing warmth.

The Solution

From the outset, our role was about more than planning individual moments. We were designing an entire weekend flow.

We began by taking care of logistics, organising train travel into London for all 30 guests and securing accommodation at the Hard Rock Hotel, London. Having everyone staying together immediately set the tone and made the weekend feel cohesive from the very first hello.

To keep the experience smooth and stress-free, we created personalised itineraries for each guest, ensuring everyone knew where they needed to be while still allowing freedom to opt in and out of activities as they pleased.

Saturday: London at Its Best

Saturday was designed to showcase London while keeping the pace enjoyable for all ages.

The day began with a relaxed river cruise, giving guests time to settle in, catch up and take in the city from the water. From there, the group enjoyed afternoon tea at The Palm Court at the Sheraton Grand London Park Lane, a timeless setting that felt suitably celebratory without being formal.

For those craving something more playful, the afternoon continued with The Crystal Maze Experience. It proved to be a real highlight, bringing out competitive spirit, laughter and teamwork across generations. Watching children, parents and grandparents get equally involved created exactly the kind of shared memories the client had hoped for.

Sunday: Choose Your Own Adventure

Sunday was intentionally lighter in structure. Guests could choose between bowling at All Star Lanes Holborn or crazy golf at Plonk Camden before heading home.

This flexibility was key. It allowed people to end the weekend in their own way, whether that meant one last burst of energy or a relaxed wind-down before travelling back.

The centrepiece of the luxury 60th birthday weekend in London was an intimate dinner party held at the five-star Radisson Blu Edwardian, Hampshire Hotel, right in the heart of the West End.

The Hampshire Penthouse, located on the eighth floor, offered breathtaking views across the capital through its floor-to-ceiling windows. As dusk fell and the city lights came on, it provided a spectacular backdrop for a truly special evening.

Guests were welcomed with Bellinis before sitting down to a beautifully prepared three-course dinner. Styling was warm, elegant and atmospheric, with candlelight, mirrored accents and carefully considered details that elevated the space without overpowering it.

What truly set this celebration apart was how personal it felt.

The creative direction was inspired by the client’s love of the stage show Jersey Boys and his passion for Derby County FC. These influences were subtly woven into the evening, creating moments of recognition and delight without feeling overly themed.

To cap off the dinner, an Elvis impersonator surprised guests with a performance that brought the room together in laughter and applause. To echo the client’s life in the UK before moving abroad, we also hired an authentic jukebox and created a relaxed lounge area. It was a nostalgic touch that resonated across generations and encouraged guests to linger, chat and reminisce.

Throughout the entire weekend, one of our event managers was present to oversee every detail. From coordinating transport and suppliers to managing timings and troubleshooting quietly behind the scenes, our role was to ensure the client and his family could fully enjoy the experience without worrying about what was happening next.

This luxury 60th birthday weekend in London was exactly what the client had envisioned: a generous, thoughtful celebration that brought family together and created lasting memories.

Rather than a single party, it became a shared chapter. One filled with laughter, nostalgia, discovery and time well spent together.
