An Alice in Wonderland Christmas party celebration, 550 guests, the opportunity to let creativity run rampant, this is why we love what we do! Our client asked us to do more than organise a sit-down meal at the Hilton Brighton Metropole. They wanted an immersive experience based on Alice in Wonderland – how could we not oblige!

When our client came to us to plan their Christmas celebration, they were clear on one thing: they didn’t want another predictable sit-down dinner.

They wanted a shared experience. Something immersive, playful and unexpected. A celebration that would pull people out of the everyday and give them a night to properly switch off, connect and be surprised.

With a venue of this scale and a guest list this large, the challenge was clear. How do you create intimacy, theatre and wonder for hundreds of people, without losing control of the logistics?

Our answer was simple: take a familiar theme and twist it. Read on to explore this Alice in Wonderland Christmas party!

The Solution

The Creative Direction

Alice in Wonderland felt like the perfect starting point. But rather than leaning into the sweet, storybook version, we chose to explore a darker, more surreal interpretation. Think psychedelic rather than pretty. Curious rather than cosy.

From the outset, our aim was to make guests feel as though they’d stepped into another world the moment they arrived. One where the rules were slightly off, reality was bent, and nothing was quite as it seemed.

Every creative decision at this Alice in Wonderland Christmas party was designed to support that feeling of disorientation and delight. Welcome drinks were served in bottles labelled with the instruction ‘drink me’ along with molecular cocktail canapés. Our whacky Mad Hatter and White Rabbit, wonderfully played by two immersive actors, led guests through a giant keyhole to join the Mad Hatter’s Tea Party.

Long banquet tables and bench seating replaced traditional round dining at this Alice in Wonderland Christmas party, encouraging a more relaxed, communal feel. Eclectic props, oversized playing cards and dramatic candelabra ran the length of the tables, while real trees wrapped in fairy lights added height, texture and atmosphere.

A carefully designed lighting scheme and laser show transformed the room throughout the evening, shifting the mood as dinner progressed and keeping the space visually alive.

Food, Performance and Flow

Dinner was served as a three-course experience, supported by a roaming band that moved through the space, blurring the line between performance and audience. This helped maintain energy without overwhelming conversation, a crucial balance for a corporate Christmas party of this size.

One of the standout moments at this Alice in Wonderland Christmas party came courtesy of our Cheshire Cat. Appearing unexpectedly, the contortionist performance drew guests in, creating a genuine moment of collective awe and surprise. Exactly the kind of shared memory that stays with people long after the night ends.

Behind the scenes, our team were managing complex timings, service flow and technical cues, ensuring the experience felt seamless for guests while staying tightly controlled operationally.

After Dinner: Play Takes Over

Once dinner concluded, the experience shifted again. Guests were invited to explore, play and let loose.

Flamingo croquet appeared, nodding playfully to the theme, while a fully styled sweet table offered indulgent treats throughout the evening. A looking-glass photo booth captured candid moments and gave guests something tangible to take away, while our DJ took over, transforming the space into a late-night party.

By this point, the formality had completely fallen away. What remained was energy, laughter and a room full of people fully immersed in the moment.

The Result

This Alice in Wonderland Christmas party was more than a themed event. It was a carefully choreographed journey, designed to surprise, delight and bring people together at scale.

For our client, it delivered exactly what they were looking for: a celebration that felt bold, imaginative and distinctly different. For their guests, it was an evening that offered escapism, connection and a generous dose of wonder.

And for us, it was a reminder of why we love what we do. When creativity is given room to run, and every detail is considered, even the most familiar stories can feel brand new again.
